I've never really blogged before so I guess we'll see how this goes. I've always wanted to make a difference; I want to impact a life and if my blog reaches out and helps you in any way, then I'm happy. I'd like to think that this will get noticed. With that being said I'm just going to jump right in. From the time your born till the time you die standards are pushed on you and you feel obligated to live up to those standards. You're expected to be "pretty", be skinny, athletic, smart, and you have to have the best of the best. (Ya, know the whole nine yards) I am against all of that. I think that as long as you're happy with yourself and where you're at emotionally then you shouldn't give a single worry about what anyone thinks about you. It's a long road to get there though. You have to come to terms with yourself and surround yourself with things that will get you to the point of security in yourself before you the comments from people truly no longer matter. ( I hope that made sense.) Society today is so hypocritical people everywhere always say "Can't we just live in a world where everyone is equal?" Then turn around a minute later and talk about "They don't wear what I wear, they don't have a pretty smile, they don't look 'normal.'" What is normal? According to the definition it's "Conforming to what is expected." I think some people try to "fit in" because when people try to be themselves they get made fun of and put down because they're not into what someone else is. (which is bull) be the person who walks into a room full of confidence, smile, and keep doing you, because no matter how hard you try to be like someone else it won't be the true version of you. You get one chance to make life all you want it to be. Don't let anyone take that from you. Walk out the door every morning knowing you're one step closer to where you're getting. (Even if you walk backwards, you still went somewhere.) I don't like the saying "You don't know someone until you've walked a mile their shoes." We all have our own story; our own struggles. I think you should get to know yourself first before you worry about someone else. How are you supposed to love someone else if you can't even love yourself. Be comfortable in your own shoes before you go try someone else's on. Be confident. Be happy. Be you.
** I'll be posting as often as I can. Hopefully 3-4 times a week. :)
